Prelims GROUP 1 Syllabus
It is a screening test conducted to assess the knowledge and aptitude of aspirants. Preliminary exam consists objective type paper. The marks obtained by a candidate in the preliminary exam who qualifies to the mains exam will not be taken in account to determine their final merit. The syllabus for the preliminary examination is given below
UNIT-I: GENERAL SCIENCE

(ii) Polity – Political parties and system in India – Public Awareness ,General Administration – Government Welfare schemes and their utility, Problems in Public Delivery Systems.

(iv) Economics – Current social & economic issues.
(v) Science – Latest inventions in Science and Technology.
(vi) Prominent Personalities in various spheres – Science, Arts, Literature and Philosophy.
UNIT-III: GEOGRAPHY OF INDIA
(i) Location – Physical features – Weather and Climate ,Monsoon, Rainfall – Water Resources – Rivers in India – Soil, Minerals and Natural Resources – Forest and Wildlife – Agricultural pattern.
(ii) Transport – Communication.

UNIT–IV: HISTORY AND CULTURE OF INDIA
