Exam Pattern

The TNPSC Group 1 selection process is divided into three sections.

● Preliminary Exam (Objective Type)

● Main Written Exam

● Interview or Oral Test

TNPSC Group 1 Preliminary exam will be conducted by three hours and will consist of 200 questions. All of the 200 questions will be objective type in nature. The topics which covers TNPSC Group 1 exam will be in degree standard. The Exam pattern is given below.

Group 1(Prelims) EXAM

The TNPSC Group 1 exam syllabus was released on the official website, www.tnpsc.go.in You can download the syllabus from the official website to prepare for the Group 1 exam. All the aspirants should refer to the syllabus before starting their preparation. And also, it is very important to analyze the previous year’s question paper. So that aspirants can identify the subject weightage.

According to the TNPSC Group 1 Preliminary exam, General studies has 175 questions, and the next highest marks are asked in the math subject 25 questions. So aspirants need to concentrate and prepare for these two parts every day. More questions are asked from Unit 8 and Unit 9. So aspirants should give more focus on these 2 subjects. Then the next level weighed subjects are Indian Polity, Indian National Movements, Indian Economy, Geography, General science. And give more importance to current affairs also. So these are the important parts students need to focus on.

Subject Wise Analysis (G-I Preliminary Exam- 2024)

Prelims GROUP 1 Syllabus
It is a screening test conducted to assess the knowledge and aptitude of aspirants. Preliminary exam consists objective type paper. The marks obtained by a candidate in the preliminary exam who qualifies to the mains exam will not be taken in account to determine their final merit. The syllabus for the preliminary examination is given below

UNIT-I: GENERAL SCIENCE
