Exam Pattern
TNPSC Group 4 exam will be conducted by three hours and will consist of 200 questions. All of the 200 questions will be objective type in nature. The topics which covers TNPSC Group 4 exam will be SSLC standard. The Exam pattern is given below.

SUBJECT WISE MARK ALLOCATION 2024 Group 4 , Group 2,2A(Prelims)&Group 1(Prelims) EXAM
The TNPSC Group 4 exam syllabus was released on the official website, www.tnpsc.go.in you can download the syllabus from the official website to prepare for the Group 4 exam. The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission planned to conduct the Group 4 examination on June 9, 2024. All the aspirants should refer to the syllabus before starting their preparation. And also, it is very important to analyze the previous year’s question paper. So that aspirants can identify the subject weightage.

According to the TNPSC Group 4 exam, General Tamil has 100 questions, and the next highest marks are asked in the math subject. So aspirants need to concentrate and prepare for these two subjects every day. Then the next level of weighted subjects is Unit 8 and Indian Polity. These four subjects have more or less 150 questions. So these are the important parts students need to focus on.

GROUP 4 – General studies Syllabus
UNIT I GENERAL SCIENCE

i) Nature of Universe – Measurement of Physical Quantities – General Scientific Laws in Motion– Force, Pressure, Energy –basic principles of Mechanics & its application, Magnetism, Electricity, Light, Sound, Heat and Nuclear Physics in our day to day life.

ii) Compounds & Elements – study of Acids, Bases &Salts – Petroleum Products, Fertilizers, and Pesticides – Metallurgy & Food Adulterants.

iii) Main concepts of Life Science, Classification of living organisms, Evolution, Genetics, Physiology, Nutrition, Health and Hygiene, Human diseases.

iv) Environmental Science.

UNIT- II CURRENT EVENTS

i) Latest diary of events – National symbols – Profile of states –Eminent personalities and places in news – Sports – Books and Authors.

ii) Welfare Scheme of Government – Political parties and Political system in Tamil Nadu and India.

iii) Latest inventions in Science and Technology Geographical Land Marks – Current Socio –Economic issues.

III GEOGRAPHY

i) Earth Location – Physical Features – Monsoon, rainfall, weather and climate– Water resources–Rivers –Soil, Minerals and Natural resources– Forest and Wildlife–Agriculture pattern

ii) Transport Communication.

iii) Population density and distribution in Tamil Nadu and India d. Calamities – Disaster Management system – Environment – effect of Climate change.

IV HISTORY AND CULTURE OF INDIA

i) Indus Valley Civilization – Guptas, Delhi Sultans, Mughals and Marathas – South Indian History.

V INDIAN POLITY
